itinerary
The Andean marriage ceremony begins with a pick-up from the hotel at 8:00 AM to transport the couple to the Sacred Valley, specifically to Chinchero, where a sacred space is prepared for this profound ritual. Along the journey, you’ll be immersed in the landscapes of the Sacred Valley. We’ll pause for photo opportunities, capturing beautiful moments of the couple for the video and photos included in the experience. The transfer takes about 1 hour, offering a peaceful journey toward the ceremony site.
Upon arrival, the couple will have time to prepare and arrange their wedding attire before entering the sacred space. This Andean marriage ceremony is a union that harmonizes the love between the couple with the sacred energies of nature. The feminine energy of Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the masculine energy of the Apus (sacred mountains) will bless the couple with strength, love, and harmony for an everlasting relationship.
The ceremony begins as the couple enters the center where the Andean Master awaits, ready to conduct a cleansing ritual with sacred plants, water, and incense, preparing them to approach the Mesa (the Andean altar).
The ceremony consists of several key phases:
* COCA Q’AWAY (Coca Reading): The Master reads the couple’s oracle through the coca leaves, allowing them to offer prayers for their future.
* T’IKARIY (Flowering): The couple is blessed with flowers, a symbolic act to help them bloom and work with their energies.
* DESPACHO (Marriage Offering): The Master creates a marriage offering, explaining each step to the couple as they contribute their energies and desires for their future.
* CH’ALLAY (Toast): A sacred toast with AQHA (chicha), shared among the Master, the couple, Pachamama, and the Apus, strengthening mutual respect and unity.
* Exchange of Presents: The couple exchanges meaningful gifts, each symbolizing life and the work ahead for their family.
The ceremony concludes with a photo session and return to Cusco, marking the start of the couple’s blessed journey together.
