Cusco – Rainbow mountain -Cusco.
This amazing adventure starts with your Sacred Journey team picking you up from your hotel before sunrise. Travel outside of Cusco for around 3 hours where along the way you can enjoy a nap while passing some spectacular scenery in the Valley South.
Enjoy a wonderful breakfast that will freshly prepared for you. Return to your transport and travel to the start of the trek for one more hour. The trek will begin following a stream while enjoying stunning views of the Ausangate Mountain and glaciers. Take this opportunity to see the local people still living the traditional culture. From your guide learn about their traditions and see how they dress. Your guide may teach you a few words in “Quechua” the local language.
The hike to Rainbow Mountain is around 2 hours and the altitude is high, so take it easy. Marvel at its unique and colorful beauty. Have time to explore the and take many photos. When you have finish you can take an extra hike to the Red Valley which will take around 45 minutes. Discover the colorful landscape of this area. Trek back to the start of the trail where our staff will be waiting for you. After a wonderful lunch we travel back 3 hours to Cusco where you will be taken to your hotel.
- There is an option to rent a horse from the locals right at the start of the hike.
